Since the launch of the LaFerrari was such a big event for Ferrari, nothing else they had at their stand could compare, in terms of arousing interest. Still, the 2013 Geneva Motor Show was the venue chosen to reveal the fruits of the collaborative effort between the Italian automaker and Apple.
Somewhere to the side of the “main exhibit”, Ferrari also brought an all-wheeldrive FF, which came fitted with various Apple goodies. First off, the car gets an advanced Siri Eyes Free voice recognition and control system, which as its name suggests frees up the driver from having to fiddle with knobs, switches or a touchscreen. Also, if the phone-based Siri system is anything to go by, lonely drivers will have “somebody” to talk to on long journeys.
The FF also featured headrest-mounted iPads for rear passengers to enjoy a movie or surf the internet on long journeys. Still, if it were us, it would be the last thing we’d do when aboard Ferrari’s grand tourer.
We will undoubtedly begin to see more and more Apple-based systems on upcoming Ferraris, especially since high-ranking Apple exec Eddie Cue joined thesupercar maker’s board last November.
