More often than not, the older and rarer a car is, the more interesting it is, as well. That’s especially true if the car in question is a very rare and old Porsche. In fact, the word rare doesn’t do the car in question justice, as it’s the oldest of Ferdinand Porsche’s creations still in existence – the vehicle with chassis number 004.
An Italian publication, called Locals Magazine, is doing a documentary that tells the story of Luciano Rupolo. Now retired, Rupolo collects rare classic cars in bad condition and nurses them back to full health (we’ll see more of that once the full video is out).
However, the crown jewel in his creation is not the Bizzarrini Competizione shown in the trailer, but the aforementioned Porsche.
Apparently, the car was found in the 1970s, and at first, it was dismissed as being a homemade kit car. However, it was later proven to be a genuine car, and the fourth ever made by Porsche. The documentary focuses on the restoration process of the car, as well as Mr. Rupolo’s impressive collection of classics.
The documentary is currently in its editing phase, and will be released onto the web soon. Until then, check out the trailer after the jump, and please feel free to contribute if you have any further information on this mysterious Porsche.
