In less than three weeks, two separate Carscoops readers have captured a camouflage-free version of Kia’s new flagship sedan, the Quoris, both in the sunny state of California.
Reader Patrick M. tells us: “I was in Los Angeles for spring break and I spotted the Kia Quoris. I don’t know if it’s news, but I read every day and figured I’d try to contribute.” Well, thank you very much Patrick and congrats for keeping an eye open for future models.
Since this is a different colored version of the Quoris, (which is known as the K9 in South Korea, but for reasons that have to do with the association of the name with man’s best friend, will not be used in export markets), from the black model scooped by reader Tom last month, we have to assume that Kia is evaluating several examples of the car in the States.
While it’s almost certain that Kia will at some point, launch the Quoris in North America, which together with China, are the world’s largest markets for premium-priced sedans, the Korean carmaker won’t give our a precise sales date yet.
When it does, we anticipate that the rear-wheel drive cousin of the Hyundai Genesis sedan will likely be sold with two engine options, a V6 and a larger displacement and more powerful V8.
Thanks to Patrick M. for the scoop!
