Land Rover has released UK pricing and specifications for its second generation Range Rover Sport that made its world debut just last month at the New York Auto Show.
Slotting between the existing Discovery 4 and the regular Range Rover, the all-new Sport starts from £51,500 and is available to order in the UK now with first deliveries scheduled to commence from the third quarter of the year.
Customers can choose from three engines, including two diesels, a 255hp (258PS) 3.0-liter TDV6 and a 288hp (292PS) 3.0-liter SDV6, plus a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 petrol rated for 503hp (510PS), with all powerplants coming with stop/start technology and an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard.
Once they’re done with the engines, the next move is to select from one of four available equipment grades, named SE, HSE, HSE Dynamic and Autobiography Dynamic.
The base SE starts at £59,995 and comes fitted as standard with the following features: leather upholstery, automatic headlights and windscreen wipers, DAB digital audio, a power tailgate, intelligent stop-start, two-zone climate control, heated front seats, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, HD navigation, four-corner air suspension with automatic levelling, Terrain Response and “Say-What-You-See” voice control.
If you move up to the HSE grade that is priced from £59,995, you’ll get a series of upgrades including: 20-inch alloy wheels, Oxford perforated leather seats with 14-way electric front seat adjustment and memory function, heated rear seats, power steering column adjustment, front fog lights, paddle shift controls, heated windscreen, rear view camera and aluminium Range Rover treadplates.
The HSE Dynamic is the next step in the range and it starts from £64,995. In addition to the HSE’s standard features, it adds stainless steel pedals, a bright finish for the twin tailpipes, gloss black grille and vents, 21-inch alloys, illuminated treadplates, twin speed transfer box, torque vectoring and the more sophisticated Terrain Response 2 Auto system.
Those who want it all, can opt for the flagship Autobiography Dynamic specification with a starting price of £74,995, which ups the equipment ante with these additional features: High Beam Assist for the headlights, configurable interior mood lighting, Meridian Surround Sound audio system, illuminated treadplates, adaptive cruise control with Queue Assist, plus a more comprehensive safety package including emergency braking and active front seatbelts.
