While outdated in some aspects, the Cadillac CTS Coupe remains a good looking and potent model especially in CTS-V form. Now just imagine the same kind of design idea being applied to the imposing all-new CTS, and visualize it.
This is what Edmunds is reporting could be a possibility. They base their hypothesis on a statement made by Cadillac‘s global marketing boss, Jim Vurpillat, during an interview given at the New York Auto Show. He said that the current CTS Coupe was “hugely successful”, and it was in fact “the No. 1 selling luxury coupe in the industry. It is a good segment for us.”
Now, the new CTS is designed to fight against its German rivals on more equal terms, and that means that both the sedan and the possible coupe (and wagon) body styles will have to have serious performance credentials, at least in a high-powered “-V” model guises, so as to boost the image of the entire range.
Still, I think the coupe version of the car would look great, and it has the potential to amongst the most desirable two-door Cadillacs of recent times.
