If you’re into cars and video games, you’ve likely heard of the Grand Theft Auto (GTA for short) franchise where you can steal vehicles (and pay the services of prostitutes, but that’s another story…) and act like a genuine thug on the road, crashing and smashing into anything that comes your way, all in the safety of your home. This is what one man did – not in a game, though, but in real-life Hong Kong.
Carscoops reader Sammy T. outlined the incident in an email he sent along with a video shot by a pedestrian: “Just happened today in Hong Kong [ed. Note: the email was sent to us on Monday]…..rumor said the car got stolen and the driver just drove speed up and fled away”.
The footage shows the thief smashing into a small bus and while surrounded by cops, he actually managed to get away in the beat up silver car. Local media reports said that the crazy driver was apprehended later in the day, adding that, aside from the driver of the minibus who sustained some minor injuries, no one else was hurt.
Thanks to Sammy T. the video tip!
