This weekend’s Shanghai Auto Show will see Maserati holding the world premiere of the new Ghibli premium mid-size sedan, but it won’t be alone, as the Italian manufacturer announced today that it will be joined by a new entry-level edition of the new Quattroporte.
Maserati tells us that the base Quattroporte is fitted with a V6 engine producing 326-horsepower (243kW or 330PS), without providing further details about its specifications, but adding that this model was “specifically conceived and developed for the Chinese market”.
As a reminder, the full-size luxury sedan launched with two gasoline engine options, a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 rated for 404hp (410PS) and 550Nm (406 lb-ft) in rear- and all-wheel drive configurations, and a range-topping twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 delivering 523HP that’s available exclusively with rear-wheel drive. Both these engines are paired to an eight-speed ZF auto transmission.
