The same thinly disguised 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class prototype that was nabbed by our scoop photographers earlier this week is also making the Nürburgring rounds for some fine-tuning of the chassis and other components before the big reveal on May 15.

Luckily for us, YouTube user Fastsportscardriver was on hand to shoot a video of the Mercedes test car that you can check out for yourself, right below the break.

The S-Class you see in the video footage will be one of four sedan bodies in the new W222 range, as in addition to the regular and long-wheelbase models, Mercedes also plans to offer a super-stretched and –luxurious Pullman edition with an extra-long wheelbase version slotting in-between. A new S-Class Coupe that will replace the current CL and at least one convertible (there’s also been talk about a four-door cabriolet) model will enhance the lineup in the coming years.

Power for the sedan models will come from the widest engine range the S-Class has seen to date, spanning from a frugal four-cylinder turbo diesel to the mighty twin-turbocharged V12 for the AMG 65 performance model, with a choice of V6 and V8 gasoline engines, as well as other diesels and hybrids filling the gap.

Sales of the new S-Class should start in the third quarter of the year.
