Much like its adversary with the blue and white roundel logo from Munich, Audi also tends to keep styling updates to a minimum when time comes to facelift its models. In fact, sometimes it’s even hard to tell the differences between one generation from the other – the 2013 A3 hatch is one such example…
In the case of the A8 flagship saloon, the mid-cycle update will bring some mild styling tweaks here and there, but you will have to be a dedicated fan of the brand to spot the differences.
The wrapped up prototype caught by our spies in Germany appears to feature new headlamp units along with possible changes to the grille and bumper designs up front, and re-worked tail light graphics and a bumper at the rear end, but that’s about it.
We don’t have photos of the interior, but our prior experience with Audi facelifts suggests that Ingolstadt will add new options and gadgets to the interior, while we also expect some tinkering to the A8’s powertrains to improve performance and fuel economy.
Since the third generation A8 has been on the market since 2010, a 2014 introduction is very likely.
