The world’s tightest parallel park has been set at 131 mm (5.16 in) by Brit John Moffatt on the set of the “Officially Amazing” TV show in Hereford, UK. Quite amazingly, the record was equaled by his brother, Alastair Moffatt, during the same event held on December 10 2012.

The 131-mm gap represents the distance between the car’s front/rear ends and the neighboring cars. Needless to say, to be able to park in such a small space, conventional maneuvers are useless, with the ideal approach being to park the car using the handbrake and some speed. Both brothers used old Mini Mayfairs during their attempts in which they managed to break the previous record of 150mm (5.91 in), set by Han Yue from China.
