If you want a McLaren but you can’t quite make the asking price for a new example, there is now an alternative. The British supercar maker has just launched its own official and certified pre-owned program, called “McLaren Qualified”, through which prospective buyers can choose from a selection of approved second-hand examples that have been given the once-over, and which also get a two-year unlimited mileage warranty, for peace of mind.
Furthermore, despite the fact that the cars are not new, the manufacturer is giving people the chance to customize their vehicle, using the McLaren Special Operations Personalization Program, or MSO. The upgrades can be installed at special prices for up to four weeks after the car has been bought.
This sounds like a pretty good bet if you want a solid (almost) new McLaren sitting in your front driveway. Sure, it will be more expensive than simply looking for a second-hand example for yourself, but you can’t beat the two years of warranty offered.
In the end, it all depends on what you want, and, more importantly, how much cash you’re willing to part with. For the complete picture, do check out McLarenqualified, as it holds considerably more information on the program than we were able to cover here.
