Less than four years after the production debut of the Panamera, Porsche’s Leipzig plant in Germany today built the 100,000th example of the liftback model. The milestone vehicle is a new Panamera S E-Hybrid in “rhodium-silver metallic”. The milestone model festively drove off the assembly line and through a paper wall that was signed by employees beforehand.
“In over 120 countries, Panamera customers drive a Porsche that is ‘Made in Leipzig’ and sport this quality seal around the globe. The team and I are very proud of this,” said Siegfried Bülow, Chairman of the Board of Porsche Leipzig GmbH.
The Panamera S E-Hybrid was first revealed at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show at the end of April, and according to the German brand, it boasts over 1,500 possible variants of factory installed exterior and interior color combinations and decors. It develops 416 PS (410 hp) of system power and returns a fuel economy (with the use of the electric motor) of 3.1 liters/100 km (75.9 US mpg), equivalent to CO2 emissions of only 71 g/km.
Hybrid model aside, the recently facelifted Panamera range also gained long-wheelbase variants for the Turbo and 4S, plus a new 3.0-liter biturbo engine that replaces the previous 4.8-liter V8 in the Panamera S and Panamera 4S.
