There’s just something fascinating about RC vehicles, which makes people of all ages spend a lot of money on what some would dismiss as mere toys. Well they are toys, but not in a childish way, as some like the “B” car-quadcopter are quite serious and advanced machines.

Currently in its Kickstarter project phase, “B” is the brainchild of a UK-based product designer called Witold Mielniczek who is very close towards reaching his goal of raising $131,500 (€100,800) – the sum he deems necessary to get things going.

The amount of detail which he goes into on project page is impressive, and it really does tempt you to pledge the minimum $486 (€373), which will get you a kit which you will have to assemble yourself some time towards the end of 2013 – if you are among the first to pledge, that is. If you are willing to pay more, you can get it fully-assembled along with an RC transmitter, which you can only get if you pay at least $608 (€466).

For that you get an RC vehicle which can drive over pretty rough ground, despite only being rear-wheel driven, and if its path is blocked it fires up its four rotors and lifts up into the sky. It also comes with a built-in camera that can shoot images in 720p quality, so you can analyze your run once you manage to bring the vehicle back down again.

Thankfully, that won’t be a problem, because the wheel mounts are flexible, as are the ones for the rotors, and coupled with the solid structure, it can withstand repeated severe impacts with no fuss – very important, especially until you master the controls…or at least that’s what its creator states.

Do check out the project for yourself, and the video we have posted below is a good place to start.
