Here’s another special edition model for Britain, this time from Volkswagen that created a limited batch of Amarok pickup trucks fitted with more than £3,400 of additional equipment, which it says offers a customer saving of over £2,000.
Only 300 will be made available in the UK beginning from July with prices starting from £22,495 (excluding VAT) for the manual transmission model and rising to £24,225 (excluding VAT) for the automatic transmission version.
Available in two shades, namely Reflex Silver, with black door mirror covers, or Deep Black, with silver door mirrors, the special edition is built around the Amarok Trendline specification. Added features include 18-inch Durban alloy wheels, a black side step, black styling bars across the load area, rear privacy glass and special edition decals.
Other upgrades are the front and rear parking sensors, a protective coating for the load area, interior floor mats, Bluetooth connectivity and satellite navigation with a five-inch colour touchscreen as standard.
Under the hood you will find the a 2.0-litre BiTDI turbocharged diesel pushing out 178bhp (180PS) and 309 lb-ft (420Nm) of torque allowing for a maximum towing capacity of up to 3,200 kg (7,054 pounds).
UK buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual transmission with selectable 4MOTION all-wheel drive, or the latest 8-speed automatic transmission with permanent 4MOTION all-wheel drive. The latter also sports a BlueMotion Technology package comprising low rolling-resistance tyres, start/stop system and regenerative braking to improve economy and lower CO2 emissions.
