Remember Group B-era rally footage when fans used to stand on the special stages and then clear the roads seconds before the cars arrived? It looks like this irresponsible behavior continues into 2013, as proven by this footage from the Acropolis Rally in Greece that ended on Sunday.
The short video shows two incredibly stupid (and lucky) individuals who were apparently playing a game of who will stay longer on the road before the next rally car arrived. We see them standing in the middle of the gravel road while other spectators told them to move inside as a car was approaching at full speed.
And indeed it was, as a split second later, we see a Ford Fiesta RS WRC blasting sideways through the corner at an incredible speed. Had they delayed their move any longer, it’s safe to say they wouldn’t have been alive today. For their own good (and others’), we’re hoping they won’t push their luck so hard next time…
