Ah, the celebrated and world famous Goodwood Festival of Speed in England; if not the most, one of the best places to see the latest and fastest supercars as well as cherished classics, old and new competition models and even world premieres of production and concept cars (i.e. the Jaguar Project 7 and the Skoda Octavia vRS), all in one place during a four-day petrol-fueled event that runs from July 11 to 14.
With the first day now behind us, we bring you a multitude of photos of the show that the organizers like to call “a motoring garden party” and which is expected to play host to more than 180,000 visitors.
The pictures of the cars are pretty much self-explanatory, but we will tell you about the central statue that has become a trademark of the Festival of Speed. Each year, a massive structure that pays tribute to a specific brand or model series is erected on the front lawn of the Goodwood house.
For the 2013 event, Goodwood is celebrating the Porsche 911’s 50th birthday with an impressive automotive display featuring three models – the original 1963 911, a 1973 911 2.7 RS and the newest 991- suspended in the air.
If you haven’t done so already, do check the images below.
Update: The 2013 edition of the GoodWood Festival of Speed came to an end on Sunday, so we’ve update the following gallery with photos from all four days of the event for your viewing pleasure.
