Built to mark Aston Martin’s centenary, the previously one-off CC100 concept car will have a twin brother, as the UK sports car manufacturer has decided to build another one for an unnamed customer.

The CC100 was initially thought up as a present from Aston Martin to itself in the year it celebrates its 100th anniversary. However, during the build process, Aston Martin decided to sell it, with a collector said to have paid about £500,000 (€580,600) for it.

The respective car is the one recently shown by Aston Martin at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it was driven by Aston design chief Marek Reichman. As for the second CC100, it is currently being built by Aston Martin for a customer and will be delivered later this year, according to an Autocar magazine report.

While the first CC100 is destined for a collection, the second example will be given single type approval by its owner in order to be driven on public roads. Other than these two units, Aston doesn’t plan to build any more as it wants to preserve the exclusivity of the model.

The Aston Martin CC100 hints at the iconic DBR1 racecar and also previews the brand’s future design. Built on the platform of the V12 Vantage, the CC100 is powered by a 6.0-liter V12 engine mated to a six-speed automated sequential gearbox controlled via steering column-mounted paddle shifts. The car sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in little over 4 seconds and has a limited top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h).
