The European market editions of the performance-orientated Ford Focus ST and Fiesta ST are gaining power-boosting Mountune upgrades in select countries around the continent. Since Ford itself offers these tunes, the Mountune modified vehicles come with a full factory warranty.

Beginning with the Focus ST, the Mountune upgrade package costs £1,225 (US$1,850 / €1,410) when finished in silver and £1,275 (US$1,930 / €1,470) in black, and includes a cast alloy inlet duct, high-flow air filter element, larger alloy intercooler and unique calibration to lift output from 250PS (247hp) and 360Nm (265 lb-ft) to 275PS (271hp) and 400Nm (295 lb-ft) respectively.

Ford states that with this upgrade, the Focus ST can sprint from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in less than 6 seconds or “more than half second faster than the standard Focus ST”, while it also improves 50-100 km/h (31-62 mph) acceleration in fourth gear by 0.8 seconds to 4.9 seconds. The Blue Oval notes that even with the added cost, the MounTune Focus ST remains cheaper than the standard VW Golf GTI.

The Mountune Fiesta ST kit costs  £599 (US$905 / €690) and brings in a re-modelled air box base with secondary inlet duct, a high-flow filter element and unique calibration to boost the 1.6-liter turbocharged engine’s output from 182PS (180hp) and 290Nm (214 lb-ft) to 215PS (212hp) and 320Nm (236 lb-ft) respectively. The upgraded ST does the 0-62mph (100km/h) in 6.7 seconds and improves 50-100 km/h (31-62 mph) acceleration in fourth gear by 0.7 seconds to 5.7 seconds.

“Ford’s ST models already deliver blistering performance – for these Mountune upgrades we have squeezed out every last drop of fun and served it on a plate to the fans that are as passionate about performance as we are,” said Tyrone Johnson, Ford Team RS engineering manager.

The Mountune Performance packages will be available for order on the Focus and Fiesta ST models this September.
