After the release of the new Brio five-door hatchback in June 2012 and the four-door sedan version in November of the same year, Honda is now preparing for the introduction of the third body style of its sub-compact model, the LMPV, which stands for Low Multi-Purpose Vehicle.

Honda’s Indonesian arm shared this sketch of the Brio LMPV Concept, stating that it is the brand’s first model to be designed specifically for the local market – though, it will be offered in other markets as well, including India.

The Brio LMPV, which will be built at Honda’s Indonesian plant, will make its world premiere at the Indonesia International Motor Show 2013 that takes place in Jakarta from September 19 to 29.

Honda said the LMPV will offer seating for up to seven people with power coming from a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated gasoline engine, which it claims, “offers sporty performance while saving fuel”.

Tomoki Uchida, President Director of PT Honda Prospect Motor said: “[The] Honda LMPV Concept will be a special product for Honda in Indonesia because it is specifically designed to suit the needs of consumers and the character of the road in Indonesia. Honda LMPV Concept will also be produced in Indonesia, and become the first product of the new Honda factory in Karawang, which we plan to begin operating in early 2014. “
