As we’re approaching the middle of summer, Mazda released a new special edition version of its MX-5 Roadster Coupe named “Sport Graphite” in a limited production run of 500 units for Britain.
Available with two engine options, the 124bhp (126PS) 1.8-litre or the 158bhp (160PS) 2.0-litre, the Sport Graphite offers UK buyers a choice of three unique to this model color finishes: Aquatic Blue Mica, Zeal Red Mica or Aluminium Silver Metallic, with a contrasting ‘Meteor Grey’ retractable hard top.
All ‘Sport Graphite’ models come equipped as standard with 17-inch dark gunmetal alloys, glossy dark grey fashion bars, colour-co-ordinated retractable hard-top roof and door mirrors all in Meteor Grey, black leather heated seats with bespoke grey stitching, a 5.8-inch TomTom navigation system with integrated Bluetooth hands-free kit, plus limited edition badges on the exterior and interior.
Inside, you will also find grey stitching on the leather steering wheel and handbrake, glossy dark grey steering wheel spokes and dashboard panel, an alloy pedal set, and at an additional cost, floor mats with unique grey piping.
If you happen to be the first to buy the special edition from your local dealer, Mazda will also throw in a signed limited copy graphite pencil drawing of the car made by artist Paul Cadden.
Prices start from £20,995 (OTR), with the Japanese company stating that in the case of the 2.0-liter model, there is “an £800 saving against the equivalent MX-5 Sport Tech Nav”.
