The UK car market probably sees the largest number of dedicated special edition models in Europe, with carmakers using this technique to lure customers into showrooms. Renault is no exception and the latest special edition model it offers in the Britain is the Mégane Knight Edition, a healthier equipped Mégane for a better price than when these features are ordered separately.
Available in Hatch, Coupé and Sport Tourer variants, the Mégane Knight Edition is priced from £17,095 (€19,900). That’s £350 (€407) more than the Mégane Expression+ model compared to which it has a series of additional features, including 16-inch “Eptius” dark chrome wheels, dark chrome rear diffuser, GT style bumpers, electrically folding door mirrors and rear parking sensors.
The special edition is only offered with two engines, either the 1.6 16V petrol or the dCi 110 Stop & Start diesel engine, the latter boasting CO2 emissions of only 90 grams/km and consequently qualifying for zero Road Tax. Orders are open, but those interested should know that the Mégane Knight Edition will only be on sale in the UK until Autumn 2013.
Other touches include extra tinted rear windows and tailgate, standard Glacier White body paint and Mégane LED running lights. Other colors available are Ruby Red, Malta Blue, Arctic White and Diamond Black.
The most affordable Mégane Knight Edition is the Hatch (£17,095/€19,900), while the Coupé starts from £17,595 (€20,460). The Sport Tourer is the most expensive at £17,895 (€20,835).
