After informing us about the two new additions to the 2013 Swift’s range, including the 4×4 and the 5-door version of the 134bhp (136PS) Sport, Suzuki’s UK arm decided it was time to release details and pricing on the rest of the lineup.
As we noted last month when we first learned about the new model year changes to the European market Swift, the Japanese supermini receives receive some minor styling updates, mainly a redesigned front bumper with available LED daytime running lights and grille, and a new LED type high level brake lamp.
Inside, Suzuki freshened up the cabin with a new seat fabric featuring black as its defining colour with lined accents of blue and grey.
The Swift continues to be offered in three grades named SZ2, SZ3 and SZ4. The base SZ2 comes with seven airbag, ESP, electric front windows, remote central door locking with deadlocks, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors, MP3 / WMA compatible CD tuner with USB port and steering wheel mounted audio controls as standard.
Step into the SZ3 and you get air conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity, integrated audio unit, new design 16 inch alloy wheels and front fog lamps as standard.
The range-topping SZ4 adds LED daytime running lights, power folding mirrors with integrated turn indicators, ‘auto up’ facility for the driver’s window, four electric windows, automatic air conditioning, push button keyless start, auto headlamps and cruise control as standard.
The only changes under the hood is the updated 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine that offers lower CO2 emissions of 101g/km (down from 109g/km) and a seven per cent better combined fuel economy of 72.4mpg UK.
According to Suzuki, all Swift models sans the Sport are included in the brand’s recently extended VAT Free offers, with prices starting from £8,999.
