Few will argue that the R8 is the most interesting and brand-defying Audi of the past couple of decades – possibly even since the original Ur-Quattro, and despite the fact that it has been on sale since 2007 having received a light update in 2012, it remains relevant and competitive in the entry-level supercar segment.
One of the most difficult tasks for any automaker is to present an equally impressive and satisfying replacement for a successful (in its niche) product like the R8. The task becomes even more challenging if you want to top it with an even better and more extreme vehicle, like the one proposed here by David Cava.
Cava, a young transportation designer from Spain who recently graduated from the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia, created the R10 Concept as the ultimate sports Audi.
“This is the Audi R10, a new hyper car for Audi, which goes a step above the R8,” says Cava. “Inspired by LMP cars, old F1 cars and jet fighters, with the very advanced position of the cockpit and its characteristic arrow-shaped body.”
“Following the AUDI´s philosphy “vorsprung durch technik”, this 2-seater hyper car, rear mid-engine layout, is a perfect sports machine, capable to hold a twin turbo V8 engine, all wheel drive and advanced aerodynamics, with the front wings in the radiator ducts and the rear wings integrated in the side panels. The design language is based on the characteristic Audi straight and tense lines, giving its aggressive and futuristic aspect,” the designer added.
