There’s nothing like a facelift to renew interest and drive up sales of an existing model without breaking the bank. Everyone does it and Renault’s Dacia brand is no exception to the rule. The Romanian automaker is currently working on a refresh for the Duster, a budget SUV, with cosmetic, technology and possibly even safety updates.
Dacia will bring the exterior appearance of the Duster more in line with its latest models by making changes to the front and rear ends of the SUV, while inside, we hear that it will get a new dashboard, trims and colors along with the fitment Dacia’s newest multimedia and navigation system featuring a 7-inch touch screen.
Under the sheetmetal, all engines will be modified to emit less CO2 and increase their fuel efficiency.
Considering the fact that the Duster achieved a mediocre three-star rating in Euro NCAP’s safety tests, there’s a good possibility that parent company Renault may make some changes to improve the compact model’s scores.
The revised Duster will make its world premiere this fall at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
