Even though there’s always going to be a first time for car crashes, we sincerely doubt anyone in their right mind wants to have the distinction of being the number one when it comes to any kind of accident.
Nevertheless, sometimes, you just can’t avoid it, as was the case of a duo of journalists trying out the new Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk7 during the hot hatchback’s launch event in Cape Town, South Africa.
Passenger Ciro De Siena from OverdriveTV tweeted: “What a day at the office. I was passenger. And now I can tell you what being punched by an airbag feels like.”
De Siena then went into more details about the crash: “I was a passenger today in a really unfortunate accident. Bakkie u-turned right in front of us, driver didn’t have a chance.”
Fortunately, no one was hurt. “These things happen,” he wrote on his Twitter page. “The car’s safety equipment and impact absorption was exceptional; it was a big impact & I walked away. We’re all OK”
