With this year’s edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed (FoS) in England just around the corner (July 11-14), automakers are getting ready to share their four-wheel goods, some of which are new, some of which are old.

Looking to add a playful note in its presentation, Toyota released a picture of a covered car on its Facebook page with the following message:

“Festival of Speed this week. Can you guess what it is…? Full reveal later today.”

We will be really interested if it is indeed something new, but we have a hunch (and some visual proof) that the car hiding under the white wraps is none other than the lightweight Toyota 86 TRD Griffon Concept, which has not only been confirmed for FoS, but has already been shown to the public at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show in January.

What do you think?

Update: Toyota confirmed our suspicions that the “surprise” debut for the Goodood Festival of Speed isn’t really a surprise at all, as it’s a slightly updated (see wheels, fender vents) iteration of the Tokyo Motor Show 86 Griffon Concept, a study for a 500 pound (226.7 kg) lighter, track-day version of the Japanese firm’s coupe. And for those of you wondering, the last picture in the renewed gallery below is of the heli-cam used during the photo shoot.
