Not that we like repeating tiles for our posts (we’re referring to this video for those of you wondering), but the description is a perfect match for the incident that took place in Russia during a recent drag race between a Porsche 911 Turbo TR1500 and a Nissan GT-R AMS Alpha, both with 1,500-horsepower on tap.
Even though the two cars were evenly match in terms of engine output (at least on paper), the turbocharged Porsche started pulling away before they even reached the middle of the 1-mile (1.6 kilometer) race. The problem was that, the 911 also started coughing plumes of smoke from the engine bay.
That didn’t stop the Porsche from beating the GT-R both in the quarter mile and the 1 mile marks. While he may have won the race and gained new fame for his achievement on the drag strip, his prized ride’s engine also went up in smoke…
