If you go to Bulleta.com, the official site of Bulleta Motors, you’ll find the company description that reads “a premium manufacturer of exclusive, hand built, exotic supercars” based in Irvine, California. Regarding its first model, the RF22, they say it’s “a world class supercar. Its pedigree is instilled in racing, and possesses the light, agile, and tactile feedback that is missing from many lesser modern sport cars” – sounds quite promising.
Moreover, when you learn that it uses the same bonded aluminum chassis as the Lotus Evora, but has a lot more power, your interest level increases, doesn’t it?
The motor that promises to propel the RF22 is an unspecified (but likely Lotus-sourced) 3.5-liter V6 unit, which gets an in-house designed supercharger. Power is rated at 505 hp, and torque at 410 lb-ft or 555 Nm, while buyers will be able to go for either a standard close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox, or a paddle-operated automatic. Either way, the benchmark sprint is achieved in 3.6 seconds.
Each car promises to be built to exacting customer specification, and while the entire body is made out of fiberglass (GRP), a carbon fiber variant is also available, as are the two optional seats in the back, though, like in the Evora, they will serve little actual purpose for carrying people.
The brakes deserve special mention too, because they are standard ceramics, and the standard 19-inch rims it will come with are made of carbon fiber, with 20-inch forged aluminum ones also optionally available.
Pricing remains a mystery, but it will probably be very expensive, though nowhere near as expensive as the other Lotus-based supercar made in America. Moreover, they haven’t said how many they want/plan to make, or when they plan to start making them, so we’ll just have to show patience, I guess.
