Ferrari is trying to build more hype around the presentation of its new stripped-out and tuned-up 458 Speciale with the release of a video that’s more of a tease than a thorough preview of the Italian supercar that will soon head to the Frankfurt Motor Show for its word premiere.
Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the short promotional clip is the inclusion of an audio track of the 458’s re-worked 4.5-litre V8 engine that benefits from a 35hp boost lifting peak output to 597 (605PS) at a mind-boggling 9,000 rpm. Did we mention that it remains a naturally aspirated unit?
Following the footsteps of the 360 Challenge Stradale and 430 Scuderia, the 458 Speciale is also 90kg (close to 200 pounds) lighter than the run-of-the mill 458. Ferrari quotes a 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint time of 3 seconds, a 0-200km/h (124mph) run in 9.1 seconds and a best lap time around the Fiorano circuit of 1m 23.5s.
After you’re done watching the video, you can read more about the 458 Speciale in our previous post here.
