If you live in the United States, you’ll soon have the opportunity to get into a new limited edition version of the Fiat 500 called the Cattiva, which is the Italian word for describing a person or situation that is naughty yet cool. What makes the 500 Cattiva special in Fiat’s eyes are its factory-tuned look with blacked-out design elements on 500 Sport and 500 Turbo models.

Inspired by the Fiat 500 Cattiva Design Concept revealed at this year’s Detroit Auto Show, the limited-run 500 Cattiva sports blacked-out headlamps, taillights and parking lamp bezels, 16-inch Hyper Nero painted aluminum wheels, plus a Gloss Nero painted roof and performance spoiler.

It is available with a range of exterior paint colors including red, copper, straight black, silver, granite crystal, white and light blue (only for the 500 Sport).

On the inside, the 500 Cattiva features a Nero interior environment, black/gray cloth sport seats with silver accent stitching or available black leather-trimmed seats. There’s also a Matte Nero instrument panel and leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob with silver stitching.

The 500 Cattiva can be had with either the 1.4-liter MultiAir gasoline engine developing 101 horsepower or the more powerful 1.4 Turbo that churns out 135 horsepower and also has a sport-tuned exhaust. Both engine versions are linked to a five-speed manual transmission, with a six-speed automatic with driver-selectable gear changes available as an option. The entry-level model averages an EPA estimated 31 mpg (7.6 l/100 km) city and 40 mpg (5.9 l/100 km) highway.

The 2013 Fiat 500 Cattiva will debut at Concorso Italiano on August 16 at Laguna Seca Golf Ranch in Monterey, California. The car will arrive in dealerships across the U.S. in the fourth quarter of this year, with prices starting at $18,350 (€13,840) for the 500 Sport and at $20,350 (€15,390) for the 500 Turbo, excluding a $800 (€603) destination charge.
