Being that we’re accustomed to teaser sketches portraying cars that are far more aggressive and bespoke on paper than in reality, we can’t say that we’re surprised with what we’re seeing in these photos of the actual production Nissan Terrano that is a badge-engineered product based on the Dacia Duster SUV.
Sure there’s a new face sporting Nissan’s signature truck and SUV grille along with a redesigned hood, darkened window pillars and new, larger tail lamps and re-trimmed license plate holder and bumper, but unless you aren’t familiar with Dacia’s range, you can clearly see that the Terrano is a Duster in light disguise.
While Nissan hasn’t officially released the compact model yet (it plans to do so on August 20), it has stated that the new Terrano will be marketed as a more premium model with a higher price tag than the Duster, and that it will be manufactured at its factory in Oragadam, India alongside the Micra hatchback, Sunny sedan and Evalia van.
