We recently talked about how and why Peugeot was going to double the production for the 2008 crossover, in order to keep up with surprisingly high demand from around the world. Their Mulhouse plant, located in the east of France, close to the German and Swiss borders will be running two shifts as of September, in order to cover the already large number of orders (around 16,000).

The appeal of the 2008 is not hard to understand, especially after getting to drive it, and neither is that of the Renault Captur, which our quoted source said would become the second-best selling vehicle in the class, behind the Peugeot.

Other challengers in the segment include the Nissan Juke and the Opel/Vauxhall Mokka, but for this specific piece we are going to concentrate on the two French contenders.

With projected sales of 200,000 units by 2015 for the 2008 alone, these vehicles are set to become a common sight on European roads. We thought it would be a good idea to ask you which of the two models you would rather have, and you can cast your opinion by voting below.

If, however, you are like me and don’t much care for the idea behind these front-wheel driven crossovers, or for whatever reason you don’t like them, there is a third poll option which you can select. Comments are also welcome in this instance too, even if they may not necessarily be of the positive kind.
