All we want you to tell us is the donor car that’s hidden underneath this curvalicious synthetic body mimicking the lines of Ferrari’s mid-engine supercar.

Answer: It’s a UK market 2000 Ford Cougar (see another replica for an Audi R8 here), otherwise known as the 8th generation Mercury Cougar coupe in North America. Those of you who answered Fiat Coupe, if it’s any comfort, it was my first thought as well before reading the eBay ad and looking at the interior due to the design and cut of the rear quarter windows. Below you will find the seller’s description of the car, which is being sold for £28,500 (about $44,400 or €33,200).

“Ferrari 458 Italia replica DNA kit finished in Rossi corsa red. Genuine wheels and carbon ceramic discs. Full stainless exhaust. All genuine metal badges. Based on ford cougar V6 2000 x pack model with only 49,500 miles. Interior is standard cougar in black leather but do have all the parts to replicate the interior. These will be sold seperate to this auction. Plate not included. May consider a part exchange but only up to value of £10k.
