We still haven’t managed to learn if there’s anything new under the hood of the facelifted 2014 Insignia OPC (Vauxhall Insignia VXR once you cross the English Channel), but we can now answer many of your questions about the car’s refreshed looks after our spies caught a red Sports Tourer variant without a single trace of camouflage.
The performance version of the revamped Insignia series, a sister model to the Buick Regal in North America, comes with the same cosmetic revisions as the regular models, including the tweaked lights on both ends, and the new ‘logo bar’ at the back, and then some more in the guise of the special OPC parts such as the bespoke bumpers, front grille, exhaust finishers and wheels.
The interior remains hidden in these pictures, but expect the same quality, styling and equipment improvements, including the revamped center console featuring an eight-inch touchscreen, as the normal Insignia models.
As Opel doesn’t seem to care about keeping the OPC under wraps any more, it is likely to release full details before the car’s world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
