There’s plenty of news coming out from Gamescom today, which is a trade fair for video games held annually in Cologne, Germany, but one particular story that will have people in the car industry talking (aside from the release date of the GT6 and the announcement on the special Vision Concept series – read more here), is the official confirmation from Sony of a Gran Turismo movie.
The Japanese corporation would not divulge any details about the upcoming film that will see the game turning into a real-life movie, but Hollywood news site The Wrap reported today that the Social Network and Fifty Shades of Grey producers Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti have been linked to the project.
Apparently, there’s no release date yet, but it’s almost a given that the Gran Turismo film adaption will hit the big screen well after DreamWorks’ “Need for Speed” movie, which is scheduled for release in March 2014.
