For some reason, many game developers and publishers seem to think that when it comes to the driving / racing genre, customization and upgrades are not important, or at least not a main priority anyway. There are a lot of them out there that clearly suffer as a direct result of their omission.

Fortunately, the new driving game Crew promises a deep and immersive customization experience that is said to make “each car different.”

This point is brought up in the latest trailer released, which they call a walkthrough, as one of the devs narrates and explains what exactly goes on. It’s clearly one of the main focuses of the game, and so far we like what we’re seeing, but if the rest of the open-world experience fails to deliver, it won’t be enough to pull the entire weight of the game by itself…

Still, there’s something undeniably cool about turning a new Ford Mustang into great-looking off-road machine, with big tires that have a lot of travel, bouncing underneath plastic add-on fender flares. We won’t get our hopes up, though, and just hold our expectations back until we can try it out, which we’ll get to do sometime in early 2014.

Until then, you can watch the trailer below.
