In the United States, there’s this trend of supercharging or twin-turbocharging exotics or supercars with their acceleration times at least in the low fours already. There are many shops that only specialize in this kind of extreme mods, and the cars that they put back on the road usually have in excess of 1,000 hp, though most of the times, closer to 2,000 hp, if the owner is financially able to support it, and then have the guts to actually get in and go for a fast drive.

The trend, however, has not remained limited to the US, and while such mad projects are nowhere near as common elsewhere as they are in the States, you can find them in other places around the world, like on the mile-long drag strip located outside of Moscow.

It’s the place where many vehicles with exaggerated power outputs are put to the test, and the place you’ll find this 2000+hp Lamborghini Gallardo, which gets its extra go via turbocharging (if our ears don’t deceive us).

Recently, the car, and its driver Leonid, were recorded traveling at 402 km/h or 250 mph while passing the mile marker, and as the video shows, the run was an uneventful one. There was a problem, though, and it had to do with the car violently backfiring (or exploding), then catching fire at the very end. It is one spectacular piece of footage, though, and it can be found below.
