You could say that Finland is worlds apart in more ways than one, not only from the U.S., but even from many countries in Europe as well…

How else can you explain the results of a vote from Finnish magazine Tekniikan Maailma (translates to ‘World of Technology’), which asked its readers in the beginning of the year to choose the most deserving person or entity to receive a new car and which model should that be, as part of the celebrations for the publication’s 60th birthday.

The readers voted that the most deserving entity was the police force and in particular, the traffic control unit, while picking a Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake 350 CDI 4MATIC as the best tool for the job.

For those of you not familiar with Benz’s European lineup, the CLS Shooting Brake 350 CDI 4MATIC comes with a 3.0-liter turbo’d V6 diesel producing 262hp (265PS) and peak torque of 620Nm (457 lb-ft), returning a 0-100km/h sprint time of 6.7 seconds, a limited top speed of 250km/h (155mph) and a combined fuel consumption of 6.6l/100km (35.6mpg US or 42.8mpg UK).
