Now that Alfa Romeo has let the press drive the 4C, video reviews of the mid-engined sports car have started pouring in, with Autocar’s Steve Cropley being the latest to share his impressions on what he calls the most important Alfa Romeo of the past two decades.

Let’s start with criticism, as there are a few faults Cropley mentions. First of all, the interior is labeled as “very rudimentary” because of the hard plastic used for the dashboard, the lack of carpets on the floor and the fact that the center console doesn’t have too many buttons for the driver to play with.

Moving on to the good stuff, the reviewer praises the Alfa Romeo 4C’s unassisted steering, which offers a lot of feel, despite requiring fit muscles when parking.

Cropley also noticed the car’s “sensational” brakes and was surprised that it rides so well for a sports car.

Find out what else he had to say about the 4C in the video posted below the break.
