If there’s one car that can excel in straight line racing right off the bat, it’s the fabled Nissan GT-R. Even in pure stock form, it sprints through the quarter mile in the 10-second range, so you can imagine what some selective tuning can do.
In fact, you don’t have to use your imagination at all. Across the pond, Exelixis Motorsports, a tuning company based in Romania that was founded by the pairing of some capable Romanian and Greek techs, is claiming to have created the fastest GT-R in Europe.
After some extensive modifications, the GT-R R35’s turbocharged V6 pushes out 1,500 horsepower, with the tuner having recorded an 8.47 second run for the quarter mile sprint with an exit speed of 277km/h (172.2 mph).
Pretty impressive, but their GT-R will need some further work to claim the title of the world’s fastest Godzilla, which currently rests in the hands of Alpha Performance with their sub-8 second Alpha Omega GT-R 1,700WHP (that’s wheel horsepower).
