After confirming final EPA fuel economy ratings for the new 2014 Accord Hybrid earlier this month, Honda has now announced pricing for its new model that will go on sale at U.S. dealers on Halloween (October 31), to “take some of the fright out of going to the gas pump“, according to the manufacturer’s…cheesy press release.
Prices for the new Accord Hybrid start at $29,155 for the base model, rising to $31,905 for the EX-L and topping out at $34,905 for the Touring model, plus a destination and handling charge of $790 (*), which compares to a starting price of $39,780 for the Accord Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV).
Sharing the same hybrid powertrain with the Accord PHEV sans the plug-in capability and the larger battery, the Accord Hybrid pairs a 137hp 2.0-liter inline four to a 166hp (124kW) electric motor for a combined system output of 196hp. The Accord Hybrid returns EPA fuel-economy ratings of 50 mpg city, 45 mpg highway and 47 mpg combined (5.0l/100km).
All Accord Hybrids come equipped as standard with Honda’s LaneWatch blind spot display system, a rearview camera, LED daytime running lights (DRL), Bluetooth HandsFreeLink, USB/iPo integration, Pandor compatibility, SMS text message function, dual-zone automatic climate control, alloy wheels, a driver’s seat with 10-way power adjustment, and a 160-watt AM/FM/CD audio system.
Moving up to the EX-L adds Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) along with leather-trimmed and heated front seats, the HondaLink cloud-based media and connectivity system, power driver’s seat memory, front passenger seat with 4-way power adjustment and one-touch moonroof.
The range-topping Touring grade completes the list by adding the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System, LED headlights with blue tinted chrome bezels, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and hard disk drive (HDD) audio memory.
