It’s yet another model-year time for Honda’s Ridgeline mid-size, half-pickup truck, half-SUV, which after eight years in the market, is in desperate need for a replacement. A new generation is due in 2016, with the current Ridgeline to continue largely unchanged until September 2014, when it will be pulled off the market for about two years, according to a report from Wards Auto citing industry sources.
Back to the present, Honda released pricing information and other details on the 2014 Ridgeline today. The only thing new about this release is the addition of a range-topping Special Edition version that will be released in November.
There are no photos of the Special Edition (the gallery below includes the rest of the 2014 Ridgeline lineup), but Honda tells us that it will cost the same as the RTL grade with leather seats and navigation at $37,505, not including an $830 destination charge (the same applies for the other models).
On top of all the standards features of the RTL, the Special Edition adds bespoke 18-inch alloy wheels with black-trimmed spokes, Special Edition badging on the rear tailgate, and the black trim package from the Sport model (pictured above) with smoked headlights and brake light housings, black tailgate and black honeycomb grille with black surround. It will be offered in a choice of three exterior colors named Taffeta White, Crystal Black and Alabaster Silver, all with black leather interior.
