Following the first sketches released last year, Mercedes-Benz Style and Silver Arrows Marine are presenting the final exterior and interior design of their luxury motor yacht, the Arrow460 – Granturismo, at the Monaco Yacht Show from September 25 to 28.
Combining design features of Mercedes-Benz automobiles with innovations from the boat building industry, the yacht will offer “a new dimension in aesthetics and comfort,” according to the automaker.
At the Monaco show, the company is previewing the production version via a two-meter long scale model and detailed renderings of the 14-meter long “Granturismo of the seas.”
The Arrow460 – Granturismo’s stretched hull, long foredeck, arched roofline and slightly descending rear are inspired by classic automobile proportions, while the feature line descending towards the stern is a tribute to the Mercedes “dropping line” that can be seen on all its cars.
The interior features high-end materials such as nubuck leather and eucalyptus wood paneling. There’s enough room for up to ten passengers, with the space concept combining the characteristics of an open boat with those of a cabin cruiser, thanks to the interior space and more private areas.
Mercedes-Benz Style and Silver Arrows Marine will build a special Edition 1 version, limited to 10 units with comprehensive standard equipment including air conditioning, a premium audio system, a wine “cellar” and an ice-making machine.
The yacht is powered by two diesel engines developing 473 hp (480PS) each. The price of the Arrow460 – Granturismo Edition 1 is a scanty €1.25 million ($1.69 million), excluding VAT. Deliveries will start in early 2015.
In addition to the model yacht, Mercedes-Benz Style will be showing its entire product portfolio at the Monaco Yacht Show, including a model of the Eurocopter EC145 helicopter, furniture, luggage and eyewear collections.
