All the buzz around Suzuki’s Frankfurt Motor Show stand is the new iV-4 concept for a compact SUV, which isn’t just another study, but a futuristic teaser of a new model that will be built at the brand’s Magyar plant in Hungary and go on sale in Europe in 2015.
The iV-4 slots between the Jimny and the Grand Vitara in Suzuki’s SUV range targeting the Nissan Juke and Opel Mokka models. It’s exterior dimensions are 4,215mm long, 1,850mm wide and 1,655mm tall, with the car riding on a 2,500mm wheelbase.
Suzuki states that its ‘baby’ Grand Vitara remains faithful to the brand’s traditional SUV design with “straight, sleek lines, clamshell hood and five-slotted front grille” yet adds “a futuristic feel imparted by touches such as the distinctive kicked-up character lines on the sides, the fog light with built-in laser sensor on the roof, and the illuminated grille”. Of course, don’t expect to see those “futuristic” features making it on the production car…
No other information was given about the iV-4 so at this point, we don’t know what’s hiding under the hood.
