I think that the new PlayStation 4 (PS4) Driveclub game leaves many promises with its blend of social media aspects, team-racing aspects and a lot of good old fashioned racing. Thankfully, it doesn’t take place on closed racing circuits, and the game promises to let you loose on narrow country roads, in some of the fastest cars on the planet. Throw in your friends of varying skill levels, and you have a recipe for fun…probably.

The game was displayed at the Gamescon 2013 event, in Cologne, Germany, and while there wasn’t any really new content to speak of, we were left with plenty of gameplay videos, a few of which were not shot offscreen, and benefitted from direct video capture on the console itself.

Off-screen capture is good if nothing else is available, but if you scroll down and click play on any of the videos we posted below, you’ll understand why there’s no substitute for high-def.

There’s also an official trailer, as well as the short pre-order bonus video announcements for the new cars you’re going to get if you order ahead. Screenshots aren’t better than videos, but we also found a fresh batch of those and filled the gallery below with them for good measure.
