Our spies may be convinced that the prototype seen in these pictures testing in Germany is the new iteration of the Kia Sorento, which is due for a replacement within the next year-and-a-half, but Autoblog.com is citing unnamed internet sources that stated, it’s “a rear-wheel-drive CUV that could represent the production version of the Cross GT Concept“.
As a quick reminder, the Cross GT was presented at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show in February, as a sporty crossover measuring 192.8 inches (4,897mm) long, which Kia positioned between its own GT sports sedan study and a luxury crossover vehicle.
The easiest way to tell whether a car has a sporty feel in its design is to check out its profile and especially the roofline, and to be honest, we’re not seeing anything remotely sporty about this prototype’s styling, which makes us lean more towards the Sorento story laid out by our spies.
