Today, the organizers of Europe’s most prominent automotive accolade announced the nominees for the Car of the Year 2014 award (COTY).
A total of 30 cars made it into the list for the first of the two-stage voting process, which calls for the nomination of seven finalists that will be announced by mid-December 2013. The second phase will decide the winner that will be revealed on the eve of the Geneva Motor Show in the beginning of March 2014.
What we’d like to hear from you is which car or cars do you believe have what it takes to convince the panel of European auto journalists to give them the most points (each member has 25 points to place on at least five vehicles).
If you want my opinion, I cannot see a single car standing out in the way that (for a number of reasons) the VW Golf Mk7 did last year, eventually winning the coveted award, but I will say that in my book, the Tesla Model S, BMW i3, Mazda3, Renault Captur, Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Peugeot 2008 appear to have some edge over the other models.
