Coda, the LA-based startup EV manufacturer, went bust in May of this year, and decided to try and apply its technology for more stationary uses, not that many people actually cared or even knew about it, but it happened.

It was hard to justify missing this paricular automaker, because they sold very few of an average-looking, average-priced, middle of the road EV, for those who didn’t want everybody to know that they’re saving the planet.

But, it seems that the Coda Sedan is as resilient as a Chinese cockroach, albeit one built in the U.S. out of knock-down kits, because you can apparently still buy one now, brand new, and you’ll benefit from a ‘significant discount.’ However, you won’t be buying them directly from Coda anymore, because as we said, the company is no longer active in the automotive industry.

The remainder of vehicles that had already been built, 100 of which were gliders (no powertrain or battery) and 50 fully-functioning cars, were bought by two companies called Club Auto Sales and Ready Remarketing. They then proceeded to creating a new official site for Coda Cars, but refrained from giving the actual price for a full vehicle – if you only want a motor- and battery-less glider, then you’ll have to shell out some $7,500.
