The Porsche 911 is a hugely popular project car for those who want an iconic, instantly-recognizable shape, that is not the hardest to work on, has lots of kits readily available and if built and serviced correctly, it tends to be a reliable every-day classic.
The people who swear by them all have wildly different stories as to how they ended up being into these cars, and what has kept the attraction going. For Jeff Zwart, it would have been odd if he didn’t like Porsches, as he was “one of the key creative minds behind Porsche’s advertising campaigns for over 20 years.” He also started driving as a teen in his dad’s early 901, and was hooked from then on.
One interesting aspect he was keen to note in the pleasant Petrolicious video posted below was the fact that driving a 911 helps drivers up their game, and become more skilled at it.
If you can drive an old 911 fast and well at the same time, then you’re probably ready for pretty much anything with four wheels, an engine and a steering wheel…
