Saab may be gone – or at least what we knew of it – but its legacy continues through the cars that are doing the job they were designed for on a daily basis. Among the company’s most iconic products, the first-generation 900 holds a special place thanks to its distinct shape and the popularity it enjoyed worldwide.
The most sought-after Saab 900 was the high performance version called 900 Aero in Europe and 900 SPG (Special Performance Group) in North America. It featured a 2.0-liter 16-valve turbo engine developing 160 hp, which qualified it as a pretty fast car at the time. That’s exactly the type of car the latest Petrolicious video is about, a 1989 black model owned by Jordan Melville.
